Description

A delightful crumble featuring mixed berries, a crunchy topping, and a hint of citrus.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 4 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine mixed berries, cornstarch, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  5. Pour the berry mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the berries.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can use frozen berries, but do not thaw them before mixing with cornstarch.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
