Judy’s Strawberry Pretzel Salad: 1 Magical Bite

Description

A sweet and creamy dessert with a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and fruity strawberry topping.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen sweetened strawberries, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  4. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Fold in thawed whipped topping. Spread mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  5. In a separate bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in thawed strawberries. Let cool slightly, but do not let it set.
  6. Pour strawberry mixture gently over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Notes

  • Ensure the pretzel crust is completely cool before adding the cream cheese layer.
  • Allow the strawberry mixture to cool slightly before pouring to prevent melting the cream cheese layer.
  • Refrigerate for sufficient time for the salad to set properly.
