Description
A delicious calzone filled with chicken, spinach, and cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out pizza dough into a large circle.
- In a bowl, combine chicken, spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the filling on one half of the dough, leaving a border.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- Brush the top of the calzone with beaten egg and olive oil.
- Place the calzone on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use leftover chicken for this recipe.
- Add other vegetables like mushrooms or onions to the filling.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
