A comforting baked pasta dish with ground beef, tomatoes, and cheese.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 pound egg noodles
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and green pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain.
- Combine cooked noodles with the meat sauce.
- Spoon half of the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Top with the remaining noodle mixture.
- Sprinkle with the remaining cheeses.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini.
- Adjust seasonings to personal preference.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
