Description
A classic American casserole with ground beef, tomatoes, and noodles, baked to perfection.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in onion and green pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato soup, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain.
- Combine cooked noodles with the meat sauce.
- Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
- Add other vegetables like mushrooms or corn.
- Top with a different type of cheese.
