Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 ounces small pasta shells
- 2 cups water or beef broth
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the condensed cream of mushroom soup, evaporated milk, water or beef broth, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the pasta shells to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Check for doneness and add more water or broth if pasta absorbs too much liquid before it’s cooked.
- Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
