Ingredients
- 1 bag mini pretzel twists (about 100 pretzels)
- 1 bag Rolo candies (milk chocolate covered caramels, about 50)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (high-quality melting chips)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Arrange pretzels: Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
- Top with Rolos: Place one Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.
- Bake: Bake for 2-4 minutes, or until the Rolos are soft but not completely melted.
- Press chocolate chips: Remove from the oven and immediately press 2-3 chocolate chips onto each Rolo.
- Let sit: Allow the chocolate to soften slightly from the heat, about 1 minute.
- Swirl chocolate: Gently swirl the melted chocolate using a toothpick or small knife, creating a decorative pattern.
- Cool: Let the pretzel bites cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm, about 30 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from parchment paper and serve immediately.
Notes
- Substitutions: Use milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet. Peanut butter chips also work well.
- Variations: Sprinkle with sea salt, chopped nuts, or colorful sprinkles before the chocolate sets. For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the melted chocolate.
- Make-ahead: These can be made 1-2 days in advance. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
