Description

Savory calzone filled with chicken, spinach, and cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a large circle.
  3. In a bowl, combine chicken, spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread filling on one half of the dough, leaving a border.
  5. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling.
  6. Crimp the edges to seal.
  7. Brush the top of the calzone with beaten egg and olive oil.
  8. Cut vents in the top of the calzone.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use leftover cooked chicken for this recipe.
  • Add other vegetables like mushrooms or onions.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
