Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian slider buns
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups Italian breadcrumbs, seasoned
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup olive oil, for frying
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Prepare chicken: In a shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. In another dish, beat the eggs. Place flour in a third dish.
- Dredge chicken pieces in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Assemble sliders: Slice slider buns in half. Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Place a fried chicken piece on each sauced bun, top with a slice of mozzarella cheese, and then add another spoonful of marinara sauce.
- Place the top halves of the buns over the chicken.
- Arrange sliders on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve immediately.
