Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian slider buns
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into slider-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Italian breadcrumbs, seasoned
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, for frying
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Prepare chicken: In a shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. In another dish, beat the eggs. Place flour in a third dish.
  3. Dredge chicken pieces in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Assemble sliders: Slice slider buns in half. Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
  6. Place a fried chicken piece on each sauced bun, top with a slice of mozzarella cheese, and then add another spoonful of marinara sauce.
  7. Place the top halves of the buns over the chicken.
  8. Arrange sliders on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve immediately.
