Description

Quick and easy honey garlic chicken perfect for a weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened slightly.
  4. In a small cup, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth. Pour into the skillet with the chicken and sauce. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Serve immediately over rice or with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • For a richer flavor, use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
