Description
Quick and easy honey garlic chicken perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened slightly.
- In a small cup, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth. Pour into the skillet with the chicken and sauce. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately over rice or with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- For a richer flavor, use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
